I have these... just put them in the bag... knocked out my 2004 LT's...

 

 

hard ( at least for me) to NOT hit them straight... each and every iron shot with the 33's is pure, soft and dead freakin straight.. BEST BLADE EVER!!

I also play those irons. These are the best ive tried so far, they are very well balanced and easy to work the ball. Suprisingly, they are also forgiving for a forged blade. If your a half decent ball striker, the mp-33 will help your game.

 

Ive tried the mp-32 and did not like them as much as the mp-33. The mp-33 promote a more piercing trajectory than the mp-32 while maintaning a good hight. The ball land soft on every shot.

 

I though my distance would be reduced due to the fact that all the irons are higher lofted than most cavity back. Well, i was wrong, a well struck shot with these give me about 5 yards extra. Distance control is also very impressive.

 

id recomend these club to anyone that is looking to improve their game and are decent ball striker that can hit down on the ball.

 

one thing is for shure, it will never go back to cavity back!

I play the MP-33 aswell, a really amazing club. Mine are fitted with DG R400 sensicore shafts, very rewarding when you put a good swing on them B-U-T-T-E-R :clapping:

The MP 33 is the iron in which all blade irons are compared to.

Simply put the MP33 is the yardstick for all manufacturers who produce a blade

I used MP 33's for a little while. Very forgiving for a blade in my opinion- more forgiving than the MP 30's I had earlier.

 

You can hit anything with these- pull hook, hook, draw, straight, fade, slice, push slice, and the straight pull and straight push. Whatever swing you put on the ball- you get the results of that swing. So you definately get out what you put in.

 

Now that seems to conflict with the forgiving statement . . . slight misses that still go where you intended but do not lose that much distance.

 

Feel is never jarring- even thin hits on cold mornings. And solid contact really feels like you are compressing/smashing the ball in a buttery soft sort of way.

 

Bad swings equal bad results regardless- these don't MASK anything in your swing. I'm measuring forgiveness on the slight miss scale/distance loss.

I will never and I mean never lose faith in these sticks, I have had them for about a month and my game has changed from night to day.

I wanted the MP-32's but I came across these, demo'ed them and never looked back. I am very willing to buy another set just to have them plus they are so so pretty! :ok:

 

If I never own another set of clubs again, I won't be upset. :D

I will always wonder about the 32's and the 60's but I won't switch.

 

The change in my game compared to my old clubs is, well, I really have no words to give a clear perception of what fitted clubs can provide to your confidence!! :fool:

I have collected a number of sets (mainly blades) over the years but the 'marquee' set in my collection is still the MP-33 - probably why Mizuno refer to them as a 'signature product' on the irons section of their US website.

 

Haven't hit anything better - even other Mizuno models can't compare including the much vaunted MP-32. Have two sets with DG S300 and Rifle 6.0 shafts, with my favourites being the Dynamic Golds as I can knock them down better into the wind. As a previous post says the blades against which all others are and should be measured.

No, not correct !

 

Signature product means that Mizuno has phased them out, but because of the greatness of this particular iron (and also Mp-30) they will continue to sell them - but only through special orders.

 

As long as the tour players still use the Mp-33, it will continue as a signature product in the Mizuno line of irons.

 

I predict the great Mx-23 also will be a signature product when the succesor to this iron will be released some time next year.

I agree with the last post - Signature Product is in recognition of the quality of and impact made by the MP-33 - it is still a main range model in the UK / Europe and if you take a look at the mizunoeurope.com site under the players section, you will see the vast majority of their touring (PGA and European Tour) pros still use the MP-33.

 

I doubt if Mizuno will bestow the signature product description to any old iron model (this almost seems abusive as Mizuno just don't make any old irons), whether its coming to the end of its main production phase or passing on to custom order status.

Only way to describe these irons, the higher ball flight has taken the ‘Miss World’ of best irons ever made…well for me anyway.

 

As an engineer; the mild steel forging from the single billet creates the grain in the ‘Grain flow forging’ from one piece of steel joined together at the molecular level.

 

I have read the Muira philosophy of forging, and it looks as they weld a separate piece to the head after forging to create the hosal. This will not join the molecular bonds between the hosal & the head…. Impossible, not even a cold weld joint if they where lapped to engineers slip gauge surface finish standard.

 

If the greater forces of a forged piston in a performance engine could be welded in two parts for strength they would have done it. Same for a jet engine turbine blade would also be true.

 

For me the Mizuno way is academically sound, the ‘bling’ appearance & design of the MP-33 is cosmetically perfect & the consistently repeatable feel is second to none.

 

The Mp-32 & 60 extends the ‘Nothing feels like a Mizuno’ philosophy but how can the MP-33 sorry Mp-9 +14 be improved?

 

If nothing better comes out of the forge since they where launched in 2001, I will buy another set to last me before I die.

Best blade I have ever played, bar none. Put them in the bag a couple of months ago and was blown away by how good they felt and more forgiving than I thought they would be. Extremely easy to work the ball, high low, cuts & draws. I will be searching for a 2nd set (as a back-up) for when these babies wear out. Looks like the 690.MB's are going into early retirement. Long live Miz!

I purchased a used set of 33's off ebay a few of months ago for a test run using blades for the first time since my junior set.

 

Now i cannot see myself ever playing another iron.

Just bought a set off of Ebay.

Used blades for the first time after playing for almost a year for now , and tasted the BUTTER with a 2 iron off to 230 plus . My first blade shot ever.

 

Messed with the other clubs 2-PW on the driving range today .

1. Accuracy in direction and distance .

2. Feedback after each shot .

3. Direction control.

G5 PINGs alway created a sort of confusion in these areas.

 

I am sold !!

G5 pings out of my bag off to ebay and MP 33's are in .

BTW, you don't have to be a low handicapper or scrtachgolfer to hit these.

Just bought a set off of E-Bay. I hope it feels similar to my old Hogan Apex II's, which I liked. From all the above posts, I made a good decision. Plus TGW wanted $699 for a new MP-33 set.

I just got the set of MP33 from ebay with DG S300 used only 20 times...(190USD)

Yesterday played first time with them and shot my hcp (6) Doha Qatar (loooong).

 

Great clubs, I was afraid of 3,4 or 5 iron and taught I will use my MP60 long irons.... no need, I was hitting 3i dead straight all day, I just need to get used to new shaft to get distance spot on.

 

Feel is amazing, several balls I hit I just started laughing cause I knew ball was going straight without need to look and feedback as well as sound are amazing.

 

For a blade they are fairly forgiving, very little difference in forgiveness from MP60. That is mainly because my problem is not hitting middle of club but occasionally coming over the top.

 

Top club, you have to try it...

Look great and feel even better. These are long despite the slightly weaker lofts. Relatively forgiving, very workable. The sweet spot is truly sweet, and you can tell a slight mishit without a horrible harsh feel.

 

I have them with 38" 5 iron, between 1 and 2* upright. X100s tipped 1/4 in.

 

Best set i have ever hit, and i have hit lots.

Have played 37s, 32s, 29s, 67s.

 

33s are the best. Crazy easy to hit for what they are due to a very generous sweet spot and they make the ball do whatever you want. Meaty, solid feel and long too. Made all my best scores with 33s and that's the true proof of the pudding.

 

So cheap to buy in good condition, they have to be a must try for anyone who wants a muscle back.

32 dont have the same feel as 33 on a pure hit.

33's have a little high flight,but soft landing.I need to try DGs 100 shaft.

i know that it really comes down to a personal feel and choice. But from those of you that have the 33's base on a iron ss of 93-98 and a high ball striker what would be best recommended shaft for these blades. I currently have DG300 S.

I love my MP-33s. Contol, looks, workability, feel........... I can't find any irons I like better, and I've tried a LOT!

 

Edit on 10/2/07: I have in fact found another set that I like better (Tommy Armour Silver Scot MB with flighted 6.0 Rilfes ). However this doesn't take anything away from the fact that the MP-33 are still fantastic clubs.

Best feeling irons I've ever played with, by far. Easy to work the ball and surprisingly, pretty forgiving. If you put an ugly swing on it, the shot will be ugly, but marginal misses still go well. The lofts are weak, so if you hit the ball high you might want to drop them down a bit.

Mine don't feel like they are weaker. I hit them longer than my other two sets (755's and RAC TP's) even though they are 1/4 inch shorter. I'm still in love with them after a year and a half.

After about a six year separation from my previous set of MP-33's, I recently (through some kind of golf karma) had the opportunity to pick up a set of brand new in a box MP-33's with X-100 shafts and the blue Mizuno cord grips. They were being sold by a guy on Mizuno staff who had them in a closet as back-ups, and needed cash.

 

I had forgotten whatan incredible club these were, and will never make that mistake again.

 

Wonderful feel, exceptionally solid, and somewhat forgiving in comparison to other blades.

 

Might be the best Mizuno blade ever, and I played 14's, and 29's, and currently have a set of 32's.
