Need help from classic golfers- forged blades - Cleveland

Would a set from say 95 be old lofts- weaker, or new stronger lofts? No one in the equipment forum could tell me whether my Cleveland Byron Nelson irons woluld old or new lofts. The Cleve website has no info either.

Saw your other post, couldn't find any info either so this is only a guess -- since they're from '95 and are meant to hearken back to a time 50 years earlier than that, I'm guessing weaker "old school" lofts. Have you hit them (and were they a club shorter if you did)? That'd be the fun way to get some kind of answer!

Is there a reason for not bringing them to a club maker and having the lofts measured ?

In very general terms, the older the club, the higher the lofts. However there were exceptions and the fact is, some players do adjust the lofts of their clubs so checking the lie and lofts on experienced clubs is a good thing if only for peace of mind.

Your local pro should have a loft and lie machine. He could be a big help in that department. But hit them first.
