RI AM tour

CT National was a good split between A and B.

They moved this weekends major to next weekend due to the supposed craptacular weather incoming. I thought we played golf no matter what?

He did add a round to River Ridge for Sunday.

Which, this means another 3 day weekend of golf next weekend. Oak Ridge on Sat/Sun and then LOI on Mon.

Kinda bummed though cuz I was playing at Country View.

Personally if I cleared a weekend to play golf and 2 days before the entire weekend got moved due to some rain on one of the days.. I would be highly aggravated.
It's golf.. It can be played in the rain.

It's the AMtour not the wuss tour.

Sorry I disagree 100% with moving a major 2 day event mere days before it . Thankfully it doesn't affect me so that's just my opinion

Yeah, I'm just a tad aggrivated as it does effect me and had moved some plans around this weekend. It's rain. It's golf. I'd have been there no matter what.

Yeah I agree with both sides of this. I guess just assumed he was doing it not because we can't play in the rain but because we are paying a premium to play the course for this and it should be a great event. Although golf can be played in rain, that doesn't negate the fact that it sucks playing in rain.

I get annoyed with things being moved around. But like I said I can see both sides of it.

Started out tough this morning. 51. Came in with a 43 on the back. Lots of blind hills, always had to advance to see if others were clear over a hill, and got hit into once or twice thinking we were clear by then.

Greens are readable and fairly smooth, a little on the slower side than I've been playing the past week or so. Left quite a few a couple rolls short.

Thanks! It was 'that round'. Lowest score I've ever had, everything worked. Crazy. Last time there earlier this year, I shot a 99.

3 birds, 1 trip bogey, 1 dble. There are a few shots I wish I could do over. The 8th hole, the par 5 with the crap in front of it, I was about 240 out from my drive. 3w, right off the toe and 45* right into the woods. Drop another ball and put it on the green, and then proceed to 3 putt. :unamused;

And I learned something new today too. The greens keepers do not like people like me to bump and run onto the green. All cut away from the green to completely prevent the ball from rolling up. 2 times I tried a nice little bump and run when just off the front of the green and the cut just stopped it dead. They took away my favorite shot! Bastards!

Anyone else getting frustrated with tournaments being cancelled due to low numbers? Its not anyones fault. Butit sucks. My month of June is very very busy with My sons first birthday, his Christening, and 3 weddings. My month is crazy busy. So I was ony able to comit to 2 tournaments this month. And the first one was cancelled already. ( Country view on the 2nd.) The next tournament I can play is going to be June 15th. I'm hoping people join it so that it actually happens. Currently theres only 2 people in it.

I wish I could do the Fenner Hill Major, but my sons first birthday party is the 22nd.

I'm going to try and do the Event on the 29th at Elmridge.

my only gripe thus far is the tee times are way too late in the day i.e. 11am starts...I cant have the entire day consumed by golf. I need 9am tee times or earlier. I would enter tons more if this were the case but just isnt.

thats my only complaint at this point...especially since most are a pretty decent drive...

Yeah that is true. A lot of these are a good drive from me. So that really limits my ability to play in them. I'd play more during the week events if they were closer and earlier. On days I take off during the week I have to drop my son off at Day care and be able to pick him up at 5. So when the tee times are late, I cant risk not being around to get him.

I cancelled as well. I just got annoyed with all the emails recently about all the points changes and Ct peopel in our events and vice cersa. Keep it the same or done bother doing it if you ask me. He is going to go back and adjust all the points. I'm all set with that nonsense.

AndI agree I dont want to play ina 5 person tournament. I can call up 4 buddies and play a course and save myself the $20 extra for the league.

With that said, if anyone wants to golf, let me know.

How much says they cancel the RI one with only 5 guys and it's too late to sign up for Tux when done so?

He obviously didn't get enough people to support 2 tours. Too ambitious.

Sad how it turned out, high hopes and all that.

Problem is.. He is up charging 20.00 per golfer above the cost to play the course. You know he is getting a discount on the rates so he is making 20+ whatever the discount is. Why not make money off the CT tour as its doing well and break even on the RI chapter to build it up to keep cost down and get more participation. He could even up charge only 10.00 and get the rates down. He is making prob 25 or more a golfer.

I don't want to pay 80-100 to play a course I can play for 60-65

Well on that note. Glad I didn't play in the "scheduled" tourney today as I got to play meadowbrook. Played great! Shot 87 and left so many putts in the lip waiting for them to fall but never did.

Also Im pretty much done with the RIAM Tour also. I was in 7th place. And then he changes the rules and gives points to the CT members who played in RI events and now I'm in 16th. THat doesnt make sense to me. So I got pretty annoyed with that.

If I play in any events its just because its a course I don't normally have an opportunity to play.
