Weird Ebay Transactions

I got this email, refund and cancellation after 10 days -

 

hello,I'm very sorry but the back of my garage where the bag was caught on fire and the bag you had bid on and won is not the same so i refunded your money on paypal ....again I'm very sorry for the trouble!!!!!!

Could be true..

I had one last week guy was on way to post office when spilled his juice on it and in a rage threw it out in the trash without taking a pic to prove it, I'm convinced he might of been lying lol

Not really - paid $70 for an original Ping Hoofer bag in good condition. The guy/gal would not reply to any emails for about 7 days. I had sold both my bags to make room for the Hoofer and was without a bag this weekend.

no response, no response, an excuse, another excuse , then

"......The Putter Shattered into pieces in cold Garage....." in Denver ? (hmm bathed in Liquid nitrogen?)

I replied , commented , and the he did not sell on ebay for sometime

I sold a high end putter to a guy, and he got it cheap (33% of what retail was). Afterwards, he messages me and says he's backing our because he didn't realize the putter was new? I was good with that, but seriously, WTF?

What did he charge you for shipping? May have under charged shipping, went to ship, and realized he was losing all of his net on shipping.

Just an idea. There is a 1 percent chance the seller is telling the truth. But not a whole lot you can do about it.

My buddy got one last night, that very well might be true, but good nonetheless. In essence after 8 days or so of no contact after winning a set of irons, the seller finally responds and apologizes because his wife filed a restraining order on him and he can't get the clubs from the house to ship until after the April 10th court date. Also, he can't refund the money because his wife put a freeze on all the bank accounts, including paypal.

I would say file a paypal dispute and Paypal will handle that mess. They will either report that the account is frozen, or they will just pull the money from his account for him. That is one of the silliest excuses I have heard. People are really dumb sometimes. Hope he thought that one through before sending that message.

In all honesty, I think the guy is telling the truth. 100% feedback with over 800 transactions. It definitely is a doozy though.

I would be 50/50 on that one. In any event, waiting until the 10th isn't terrible if in fact he would be able to get the clubs and follow on with the sale on that date or shortly after. If he wanted to get his money back, he probably could though I would imagine. I guess it all dpends on the buyers feelings towards it as much as the seller's responses and reputation.

Still makes me really question it though. You are right...does suck!

I asked if it was still available and he said yes so I went ahead and Paypaled the money, his asking price. 20 min later he refunds it saying he found a smudge on shirt. I sold a guy who worked for Leeman brothers a PRGR 200i the first week of September 2001. I shipped it to his office at the WTC. Apparently each building had its own post office and it was being sorted there at the time of the attacks. Luckily the guy got out. Took weeks to get the claim done.

I almost got into the same situation I was complaining about. Sold an ogio grom on ebay with a $20 Shipping listing and had to pay $60 to ship it to Washington. Sucked it up and went thru with the transaction though.

I watched a lady drop four boxes at the post office that were clearly glass. She was distraught and I asked her what was in them. They were china sold on ebay being shipped. You just never know.
