Putter that lets you know when you hit the sweet spot.

I've been looking for a putter that makes a distinct noise when you hit the sweet spot, and makes a different noise when you miss it. I want a putter to let me know if I am hitting it in the center or not. I know they might feel different, but I would like to find one that you can hear.

 

Does anybody know of some putters that do that?

Otherwise you can always stick something on the face when you practice that will change the sound or feel when you miss the sweet spot.

Get some tape and put a small strip on each side of the sweet spot, leave a 3/4" bare gap at the sweet spot. You will know when you miss.

Ping 1a for sure. I used one for a long time. Also the new ping TR Scottsdale line have a very unique sound right on the button. It feels like a soft insert on pured putts and like a solid face on miss hits.

There is subtle, but very evident, difference in feel / sound when struck off center.

Mine is a Studio Stainless.

A cheaper option will be a Dalehead, just to see if its "you"

I have one and I like it a lot, I put about a half cup of sand in the shaft for a tad more weight

My odyssey protype has a pretty distinct sound on toe and heel strikes. I definitely know when I strike it bad. Surprisingly, there's not a ton of distance loss on off center strikes.

huh..you can try a snap and pop on the front of your putter. a snap and pop is one of those paper things you threw at the ground as a kid and they exploded. when you hit the ball on the screws you'll know it....POW!
