I now feel for you northern (winter) guys, it's been raining here like every day for a about week.

I'm going G dang nuts sitting here looking out the window. I've hit all my shag balls off the back porch already so now I'm really stuck.

Being a northerner I feel your pain. The only thing I can say it will make it that much sweeter once you get back out there. Though I must admit, this past winter seemed to last FOREVER. I must admit the winters are getting to be a might old.

I practiced the short game today and then played our short course. It so nice to be able to do that after a never ending winter. I love working on my short game (I spend 85% of my practice time doing just that). It's quiet, peaceful, and it's fun messing around with a bunch of different lies and seeing what I can do.

I hope you get out soon RR...even though it will be a might soggy when you do.

last year at this date i had played 48 rounds locally...so far this year, all of 6; today it is 47 degrees and raining; my home course fairways are all dead because of the bizarre late spring ice storm, i don't walk that well anymore because of back issues and they are not allowing carts on the fairways probably for another month -- truly is payback for last year's crazy early, warm and wonderful spring

Yea true, thanks.

It's not like other places here either. It rains hard for 5 minutes and it's literally flooded for hours...damn giant sand bar.

It's the same here every year, we get a nice section of april and then we say "man this year is going to be awesome!"

And then in May we get rain, 40km/h cold winds...

I played a round last weekend where the shortest club i hit into a par 4 was a 4 iron

We've had an unstable spring. And when we've had beautiful days - I've been otherwise occupied with little league and the like!

Fortunately that ends soon and hopefully more consistent stable weather shows up and stays within a few weeks!

Just finished playing my second complete round of 18 for the year. It was 38F when I started with a steady 20 mph wind. It felt like about 30F. No sun and the course was soaked from heavy rains yesterday. Played terrible and was pretty cold and exhausted by the time I was done...but at least I was playing....or so I keep telling myself. Where is summer? As far as I'm concerned, we need more global warming.

I've never understood why people choose to live in inhospitable lands. I live in the south because I like warm weather and moderate climates. I play golf 165 days a year and I don't play on weekends. I'm stunned that people live in places which are hostile to their psyches and hobbies. Are there no other places where you can support yourself? Where you can find jobs? Where you can enjoy life without the constant threat of nature? I'm completely baffled by all of this.

It's not just golf... how about fishing, hunting, baseball, football and other diversions of life? If I wish to go skiing, it's a plane flight away.

Choosing to live in Minnesota or Idaho or Michigan negates your right to b**** about the weather.

My apologies to all....but I've been hearing this weather crap for entirely too long. Don't like it? MOVE!!

twoody - It's typically the wife's family that keeps us where we are. That and that pesky job thing. Seriously though, I have been putting a bug in the wife's ear every chance I get, especially after this past winter - which came back today.

Born aand raised in NY, that's why I'm here now. Tough making a living in weather dependant sport having to travel more than you get to play at home. Much better now but its also easier to get spoiled as evidenced by this thread.

I enjoy making jokes about the weather in Montreal, but the truth is at the end of the day it's really not that bad because we don't really get extreme weather

We don't really get earthquakes (minor ones), hurricanes, tornados, no venomous animals, deadly animals etc....we're quite a bit above sea level.

Overall it's a very safe city to live.

haha you got me there. Despite the obvious hockey rivalries and what not, Boston folk and Montreal folk get along real well. We get a huge Boston contingent up here for our st patrick's day parade.

My only complaint about Boston is my GPS never works there. Some parts of the city are in some GPS dark zone LOL. I always get lost.

Probably been there 10-15 times

My GPS doesn't work in Boston either Jeff...so it's not just a Canadian thing! And I get lost too. A very old city with all kinds of windy, twisty, small side streets...and Boston drivers. Oy vey...

I've been to Montreal a few times. A great city...some very fine restaurants too. I think a set of RBladez Tours would match up very well in Montreal.

Doesn't Vancouver have milder winters? I know on days I've caught the forecast it seemed like for the most part high 40s was the worst they had to deal with in general, with it staying in the 50s the majority of the time.

I'm a big fan of the pacific northwest in general. Vancouver, Seatte, Portland etc...i don't mind the overcast skies and etc....but yeah they get mild winters and the summers aren't as humid. People are worried about earthquakes in Vancouver though. Suspect there may be a major one there one day

Guess you can't have it all. Vancouver generally seemed to have a little less rain and fewer overcast days with a slightly better average temp than Seattle, so there had to be a catch =p

So true! I ask my wife about moving to a warmer climate EVERY DAY from about Nov 1 until decent late spring weather arrives...whenever that is. I've doing this for about 10 of the 16 years we've been married. I still keep trying. Technically, her answer isn't a "NO" if I can figure out away to also mover her immediate family which numbers about 50 Italians.

Just got back from Orlando and it rained 4/7 days we were there. We did Disney for 6 days and Islands of Adventure for 1. I golfed 3 times and sweat like a son of a b because I'm not used to the humidity lol. I definitely do not miss the rain haha.
