AXE Excalibur Fairway Shaft

I'm looking to pair this shaft with a Wishon 949MC 4 wood. I play an AXE Excalibur 6 (not 6+) in stiff in my 919thi, but Robin says the FW shafts are a little stiffer (he doesn't say stiffer than what), so I'm wondering if I should move to a regular flex in the FW and tip it an inch. Or should I stick with the stiff flex? I currently have a made for Titleist Kai'li (regular flex) in my 910F 5 wood and I'm finding the ball flight to be a little too high.

 

My driver carry and roll is about 245-255, my 6 iron SS is 80-83 mph.

 

Thanks for any thougths on these fairway wood shafts.

maybe just install the stiff untipped and leave it .5 long?

I built one for a friend with the ts with the same Wishon head and it is a beast.

Don't know about the Fairway but the "Tour Fairway" is fairly stout and produces a penetrating ball flight for me and my distance is very close to yours.

For reference, do you play the stiff flex in the tour fairway?

I didn't know this was an option. What would I do if I wanted to play this club at 42 inches? Can you explain this a little more, I'm don't know a lot about clubmaking.

Maybe I should buy another 6 series stiff driver shaft and just put it in the 4 wood (after cutting it down of course), has anyone ever done that?

It's really not an option.

That's frequently said by those who think shaft flex is softened by making the club longer. That only works if the butt section of the shaft is extremely soft. It's not the case.

no i meant leave it untipped so if he tried and found it too soft, he could then get it tipped .5 and still play at normal length
