Original True Linkswear Tour Issues

Just to be clear, I love the fit and feel of these shoes, and I wouldn't own 4 pairs if I didn't. I wear them almost exclusively when I play, and I only break out my Tour360 when it is flat out raining. All 4 of my Trues are the older model with the square tread pattern.

 

I only play early morning rounds, so I'm used to occasionally damp socks due to the low cut around the ankles. The last few rounds, however, I noticed that the soles of my socks were getting wet really quickly, like within the first two holes. I inspected two pairs closely, and I think I've found the culprit, and want to see if anyone else has had the same issue.

 

The area on the inside edge (toe side) of each shoe, roughly around where the balls of your feet are, above where the soles end, is wearing really badly. It doesn't look like sole separation, more like the material is wearing away, like maybe the edge of the sole (or something else) is rubbing against it. This is on both feet, and enough material is gone that water goes right through. There isn't a hole yet, but it is very thin in this area.

 

I'm going to try to post pictures when I get home. Two pairs of mine are newer and not as worn, so I can post them as well for comparison. Like I said, I really love these shoes, but if this is something others have experienced, and it's going to eventually happen to my other two pairs, I might need to find something else. It sucks having your socks soaked after a few holes, and then have to wear them for another 3 hours.

The white/black ones are older, while the all white ones are only 1 year old. It's almost like the sole is glued to the upper really well, but the leather right above the edge of the sole split open. It follows the edge of the sole so closely, you almost can't see it when i'm wearing them, and without pushing it back with my finger.

The only problem I had with the original true tours was the sole separation. I will say that any time I've had a problem with any TRUE model, an email with photos directly to them has always resulted in a very positive outcome. It's worth reaching out if you're still within your warranty.

Yeah they have great customer service. Dunno how their quality is now, but I returned 3 pair for "delamination" as they call it. Got tired of it. Now use Biom Hybrid and TW13. Both great shoes. Still own a pair of the True Tours.

Wow, looks like they are worn out. If the black/white is over two yrs. old they probably won't replace them but you say the white ones are only a year old, they would be under their 2 year warranty.

the black/white pair is definitely older and probably has 100 rounds on them. the all white pair (third pic) was purchased in March 2012 and has maybe 50 rounds on them. they definitely aren't that worn. just dirt in the creases I haven't cleaned.

unfortunately, I emailed them and they can't do anything since the warranty is only supposed to be for a year. didn't even need to send pics. i feel kinda dumb for buying so many pairs of such expensive shoes but i guess I get to try out some new shoes to replace them.

All shoes wear out, doesn't mean the company has bad service or product. It's like driving your car for 90,000 miles and going back to manufacturer for free tires, brakes ect.. Because there worn out.

I love these shoes, but I've also had this happen to two pairs. One of the pairs was older and they didn't warranty but gave me a coupon towards another pair, and the 2nd pair they sent out a replacement.

Many early adopters, myself included, have had this same issue with the first model year tour shoes. 3 replacement pairs later true decided just to send me a 2012 model and the problem went away. I prefer the softness of the leather in the first model, but the wear on the 2nd model is much better. I'm still wearing them now after 100+ rounds and will look to replace them with the sensei when they go on sale.

Exactly! And think about it, running shoes only last 300-400 miles. Why are golf shoes any different? Even golf shoes with replaceable spikes should be replaced every 400 or so miles. As shoes break down they can become pretty damaging to your feet. I do a good bit of treadmill running and you would look at my running shoes and think they are brand new when really they are completely worn out because I logged 400 or so miles in them (for what it's worth I think 300 miles is about all I like in running shoes). I treat golf shoes the same. My trues have about 40 rounds on them. I figure at the end of the year it will be time for a new pair or very early next season.

Dude, those shoes are just old. There is no issue with them. This kills me. Exactly how long do you expect golf shoes to last?

I'd call it fair that you got that much mileage out of them and treat yourself to a new pair.

looks like you took terrible care of them based on how dirty and disgusting they are. Oh, and like others have said, shoes don't last forever
