How often do you clean your clubs?

After every round, I take my clubs inside the house and clean the heads with hot water and a tooth brush to clean them up. I am sometimes lazy in cleanign my clubs on the course. I dont clean them after every shot liek I should, But I do make sure theres nothing on them or in the grooves.

 

I have a friend who never cleans his clubs. Like ever... I look at his clusb and they are just caked with dirt. They look awful. And im not talking about aguy with a crappy set of clubs that he got at walmart. He has all high quality name brand stuff.

 

Personally I can't stand my clubs being dirty. Not only for the obvious reasons that dirty grooves will effect spin and trejectory, but honestly I want them to look good. I dont have too many hobies and the ones I do have I make sure to take great care of my equpiment. Why does it seem that others dont share the same respect?

I clean my clubs after every round.

At my home course the second hole is over water. I got into a habit of soaking the bottom half of a towel in the water and I use it to clean the club after every swing. It only takes a second since there is not much to clean.

Every round is started with a wet towel and the clubs, sans the driver and putter, get cleaned after every shot. The putter gets wiped down if the greens have been sanded and the driver gets washed, with soap, when it misbehaves.

The driver is very clean right now.

After every shot, doesn't take that long. I can clean it while I'm walking to the next shot if I need to. Have towel, will clean.

Clean as I play. Soak the bottom of a towel and use it to clean heads good. Periodically re-wet towel as the round goes on. Clean grips real good after about 3 rounds

My course doesn't allow walking and every cart has a little ball and club cleaner. I clean them after every shot, or at least every other shot.

After every round. Whenever I play with my brother, the loser has to clean the others' clubs.

Never. If I look at one of my clubs and it's caked in dirt I'll clean it. If after a shot I have some excess dirt or mud I'll clean it quickly on my towel, but not meticulously by any means. I generally don't like it if there's somebody trying to clean my clubs at the end of the round either. Maybe it's just me but I don't mind the look of dirty clubs.

this. I almost always walk and this provides plenty of time to clean between shots. the best time to clean is right after each shot, and this also works out well as I never have to clean between rounds.

I clean them as I play....I have a ball washer/club cleaner on my golf cart, & always have a wet towel handy.

I carry a little spray bottle with soapy water and clean whatever club I use after every hit, using one of my Club Glove caddy towels. Then, after making it home, I give them a once over just to make sure all of them are nice and clean.

I do a major cleanup of grips and apply a wee bit of carnuba wax to all shafts once a month.

As they need it. I keep a wet towel and brush with me and I clean the grooves every time that they get dirt in them. Since i take divots instead of sweeping the ball that's pretty often.

While playing, if the course is wet I will give my club a quick wipe after each shot. In dry conditions, this is very rarely necessary. While practicing, clubs get a quick wipe down before they go back in the bag. I play or practice pretty much everyday, so each club gets a good scrub each night.

Normally after each shot and every other month they come in for a good grip cleaning.

Rarely, although I clean out the grooves pretty often with a tee or my divot tool on the course.

This thread has inspired me to pick up the scrub brush and clean my clubs before I play Friday though.

Usually after every shot, but certainly they get a quick cleaning after every round before they go into the trunk. About once a month I bring them in the house for a thorough cleaning.

Almost all the carts here, even on mediocre courses, have club and ball washers. I wash and clean after every shot. Don't even think about it I just do it when I get back to the cart. It takes two seconds and the sticks are always shinin'!

I got a frogger towel. You wet the inside which is bamboo and use it to clean your clubs. The outside is terry and u dry your clubs with that. Works perfectly and clubs are always clean.

I take pretty big divots so I clean my club after each shot... and brush the grooves before each shot to get the gunk out of the grooves.

I'll give them a bath every ten rounds or so or if I'm going to play at a really nice course (where the bagboy will handle them)

Wow... I would have thought I was the only OCD person around about keeping my clubs clean.. But I guess not...
I too have a wet towel with me on the course, & clean my clubs per shot..
I also use spray wax on my woods & graphite shafts 1x per week..
Grips are on a needed basis (GPMC) except for putter, which is wiped down while I walk to every green...
