Agreed it makes sense for him to play what works best. It is very surprising to me that he has a 6.2 in the driver and a 60 kaili in the 3 wood. That's the things that sticks out the most of his bag.

He has a Cameron (had it practicing before the pro-am). I'll try to get some shots tomorrow.

I played with him in the Sectional Qualifier in Atlanta. Kid is like iron byron. He carries it about 265 to 270 and it's the same ball flight every time.

His swing is really smooth. if you watch the replay from the US Open, you may understand why he uses stiff. He looks like he just lets gravity pull the club down.

he's a great kid. Had the pleasure of watching him hit balls every weekend when he was a junior and senior in high school. Very dedicated to his practice regimen. Kinda weird to see a bag full of Titleist clubs. He always had nike except his scotty putter when I saw him.

I believe most of the Cal team are using Titleist equipment even though they have access to pretty much anything, aren't they? Their apparel is with NIke as part of the athletic department but I thought I recall Desimone saying they play FJ/Titleist gloves, shoes and balls respectively.

Everyone always freaks out when there isn't a normal weight progression with these top level am's and pros clubs. Most of these guys don't care about that kinda thing like we do on GolfWRX. I've fit several players in his caliber and literally the shaft does NOT matter. Their numbers are good with every shaft and like another poster said its the same ball flight about every time. You wouldn't believe how little the shaft matters watching these guys.

None of these guys are reading themselves into submission on the internet trying to find shafts that have 10 gram increments. They're literally hitting shafts and saying yay or nay almost instantly on feel.

Watched him hit balls at the open, he is smooth and kills it for a skinny dude. He also took plenty of time with the fans as he was heading out for his practice round. Seems like a grade a dude.
