The first two photos are my home course in Columbia, MO. The second two photos are from a trip to Colorado Springs. It is the Country Club of Colorado.

Is that Columbia Country Club?! Worked there for a summer during college. Great track.

I know the 2nd picture is looking back to the tee on 1, can't figure out what hole the 1st picture is. I've only played there twice, once in a scramble and once as a prospective member. Love the golf course, we just couldn't make it work financially at the time :(

I took my Drone down to Cabo. I played Cabo Del Sol, Ocean Course and had my drone follow me around for a few holes. I recorded it and here is a screen grab from one of the holes. I have plenty more, just not on this computer. I'll re-post and add more later.

First bluetooth speakers on courses, and now drones? Lol. How noisy are they? 'Definitely cool, but I'd worry about bothering the other players on the course.

Twin Lakes Golf Course in Canton, TX. A beautiful course built in the middle of a large tree farm. It is being shut down at the end of the month, so we went to play it one last time this past weekend.

The 18th hole - 200 yards from tee to water followed by a forced carry of ~180 yards to an "island" green

First bluetooth speakers on courses, and now drones? Lol. How noisy are they? 'Definitely cool, but I'd worry about bothering the other players on the course.

I totally agree and the only reason I did it was because I was the ONLY person on the course. I didn't see a single person playing all day.

Wow, why are they closing that course?

It's kind of a mystery, but the owners own the tree farm, the course, and livestock all on a huge area of land. Supposedly they have decided to focus on the tree farm and livestock - so rumor is they are selling the greens and expanding the tree farm into the golf course. It is certainly a shame because the course is beautiful and always in great shape. There have allegedly been outside parties approach them to purchase the course, but the course is built in the middle of the tree farm, the maintenance staff is the same for the tree farm and golf course, and that huge house behind the 18th green is the owner's house (the only one on the whole course) which was built between the course and the clubhouse. It isn't set up very well to be sold outside of the family.

The April tornadoes that rumbled its way north through three counties took a toll on residential homes and businesses alike, forcing the Dekkers family, the owners of the golf course and Twin Lakes Nursery to make some tough decisions. Twin Lakes Nursery is a 1,000-acre tree farm that the course was built into.

Twin Lakes Golf Course General Manager Carrie Dekkers said that it was a consideration before the storms hit. “It is tough to decide on what is best for the company business wise when we are caught up in running the business. The little things that need to be taken care of get lost in the day-to-day running of the business. When the tornado hit, it gave us a little time to think about everything and what is in the best interest of the company,” Dekkers said. “We had to make some tough choices and we have to follow our passion, which is farming.”

The Dekkers, Deon and Lorraine, along with their three children Andre, Michelle and Deon, started the tree farm in 1990 after immigrating from South Africa. Mr. Dekkers bought 55 acres of land in 1990 from a gentleman in Canton and continued to grow it to what it is today. There are more than 250,000 trees on the 600 acres of land.

Deon Dekkers was an acclaimed cross-country runner in South Africa and used to run on golf courses while training. He loved the beauty of the greens and the surroundings. Although never having played golf in his life, Mr. Dekkers decided to open a golf course.

He bought land and created a 200-acre course which was designed by Robert Hay. Twin Lakes Golf Course opened in 1999. Golfers have had the joy (and heartache) of teeing off on the first hole, where golfers carry their shot over a part of the lake, or the Par 4 18th hole which plays downhill and which a golfer again needs to carry his shot over water onto a green surrounded by roses.

Played St. Johnsbury Golf Club in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. It was a bit of a difficult walk -- some very extreme up and downs-- but still a nice course
