Splitting hairs are we? MP-64 will have a tiny bit lower CG, so it will be more forgiving by a similar tiny amount.

64's may help a smidge with the longer irons. I played 33's for several years, probably one of the best irons I've ever hit. I currently own the 69's, and have hit the 64's extensively. Get the right shaft, and you will love the 64's. The biggest difference between the 33's and 64's is that one of them is already on the list of greatest irons of all time, and the other will get on that list in a few more years.

Well, if they are not easier to hit in the 5 and 4 iron, one of you guys are going to have to buy them from me, LOL.
Have you considered MP-h4's in the longer irons? I replaced my MP-69 4 iron with an MP-h4 4 iron, makes me feel 25 again. Many guys are pairing 64 and 69 mid and short irons with h4 longer irons, great combo, best of both worlds.

Figured I would try the 5 and 4 in the 64 going from the MP 33s. If it doesn't work, I would add the H4's in later. Just cannot stand offset, so the H4's had me concerned.

Played 18 with the 64's today. Had S300 shafts in my MP 33's. Have Projext X 6.0 in the 64's. Here is what i found.

64's launch higher and travel further. Sweet spot seems slighter larger up and down the face and towards the toe. Like a nickle on the 64's compared to a penny with the 33's.

Interestingly, while the 64 launched higher, the Project X shaft felt like it has a higher kick point.
I think your thinking about that sweetspot is close. But I think what you're feeling is the sweet spot on the 64's is center-faced; in my opinion, the sweet spot on the 33's was slightly heelside. Many guys including some on this site disagree with me. But when my 33's were stolen, I went to 30's, and then 32's, and I thought both of those irons sweet spot was toe side- however the wear spots on the irons were center faced. I think that years of hitting the 33's slightly heel side made me think I was toeing the other two. It is my belief that the 33's were the last iron Mizuno made that had this heel side sweet spot. I may have just opened a can of worms by saying that- but the 33's were stolen, or I could verify it by the wear spots.

I made this switch a few months ago and went from MP-33 S300 to MP-64 C-Taper Stiff. I didn't feel the 2 clubs were drastically different in terms of forgiveness. I do see a difference in distance but that would be mainly due to stronger lofts and playing them in different shafts. Either way...both feel great!
