Recently, I have started receiving daily emails with golf tips from Revolution Golf. There's not a whole lot of depth to the tips which are generally 1 to 3 minute videos. The Jim McLean stuff is pretty good albeit very brief. Other tips come from Martin Chuck and a variety of McLean School instructors. Has anyone at Golf WRX subscribed to Rev Golf? If so, is there much value? From the comments they've received, there are lots of novices subscribing to the site. Any value for a single-digit handicapper?

Was a single digit for many years until I tried to do what an instructor was teaching then I went to the mid teens in handicap. Extensive lessons prior to this were not productive but also not detrimental.

I believe that at least 90% of written or broadcast instruction is rubbish?

I don't subscribe but receive the same Revolution Golf emails as you and have selectively watched the videos related to problems I've been experiencing or that I thought might help my daughter. The tips are easy to understand and have helped a bit. Though it's not substitute for seeing my local PGA instructor that I just haven't been able to connect with this summer.

An older guy in my complex recommended the site about a year ago because he said it helped him with his pivot; I took a look and liked what I saw. I then subscribed to the VIP videos because I thought that the site provided a comprehensive, coherent set of instructions built around Paul Wilson's swing philosophy (Iron Byron). Wilson is a good teacher and I liked his approach, at least at first (he teaches "powerless arms"). Unfortunately, in my opinion, the site has gone downhill in that Wilson has added a number of instructors (e.g. McLean, Martin Chuck, Roger Fredericks) and now it's like an encyclopedia. Dangerous because IMO there are far too many inconsistent and downright useless golf tips on the internet.

I don't know if I answered your question (I'm a triple-digit handicap ), but that's my impression of the site.

I watched the intro video clip but do not see the value. Snake salesmen is how I would characterize them. To think I would pick up 30 yds by waggling the club to "get my wrist and forearms loose". sorry I do not need a waggle to avoid that. I went to the range and did a 50 / 50 and found that there was no correlation to one tact working any better than what I was doing. Where as they speak common sense principals, I have those already incorporated into my game.

The famed 10 death moves by McClean. What I would say is the first death move is paying anyone $5000 for one day of lessons. That is just nuts.

Then again these videos are great for slandering any good teaching professional out there as they try to characterize these professionals as players that could not break 80 themself.

Consequently, I could care less if they can break 80, if they can see a problem and provide a drill to correct the problem they are doing what you want them to do.
