Eastern Shore Maryland Golf

Hi all,

I will be staying in St. Michael's in mid October. What are the best golf courses (public or private) nearby that I should play?

I'm sure VTNerf our resident eastern shore expert will chime in

But two I would highly recommend would be Queenatown Harbor (River) they have two courses. Also Heritage Shores is a phenomenal layout...that will challenge you with constant 20 to 30 mph winds.

If you want to drive about 2 hours east to the coast Links at Lighthouse Sound is a signature Eastern Shore course.

[size=5][sup]There is a course right in St Michaels called Harbourtowne. A little tight in spots but OK. In Easton (about 20 minutes away) there's Hog Neck which is fairly nice. The nicest in your area would be Queenstown which has two very nice courses. It's about 40 minutes away from St. Michaels. [/sup][/size]

Hog Neck on the west side of Easton
River Marsh at the Hyatt in Cambridge
If you don't mind wind...Heritage Shores in Bridgeville
Prospect Bay
All are within a 30-40 minute drive mostly.


Private side, Caroline Country Club and Talbot Country Club are around, but I would try to hit the above ones first.

Um, I'm pretty sure you can't avoid wind on the Eastern Shore!!

Heritage Shores is a great deal, although pretty far from St Michaels. I'd go for River Marsh in terms of proximity, and Queenstown has to get my nod for best layout. Phenomenal facility and the course is a beast.

I'd say River Marsh is the best of the courses around there.
