I hit a 423 last year and the 354 I hit in round 2 this year was effectively 10-15 longer. Most rounds into the wind this year.

That Open Division is a pretty tough school. Ben Tuaone has hit drives of 439, 417, 438, and 421 and is on his way home.

last years champ Winther, also gone. He must be hurt in some way. He was barely cracking 400. The dude has set the record for highest ball speeds, and club head speeds. I just hope the Jamie does not win it. Just because he is the poster boy.

This years long drive is TERRIBLE!!!!!

The platform is raised extremely high which probably alters the drivers perception of the field plus it increases hang time of the ball which will make it more easily fly OB.

Plus the large capacity of open seating within the track makes this competition look like a middle school track meet.

Oh and the cooridination between cameras and microphones were off.

I dont know maybe I'm just being picky but man this is bad.....

I usually love this stuff, but this is awful television. Poor production values, crowd noise seems forced, way, way too many OBs. Still some long balls, but geez, lacks drama so far.

I thought the setup was pretty cool. It must have looked pretty intimidating to those guys, plus harder to keep it in play probably. Not sure what happened to Jamie, he looked sick the whole time. Also thought it was weird that the guys weren't drawing the ball more. I think even the winning shot was a fade.

Considering these guys have an AOA +5-8, a fade would seem easier for me.

I think the combo of hitting at night and the platform makes it tough to find the grid. It isn't like most of the OB's were remotely close either. I am also never a fan of having a big event a month after the qualifiers from a competition point of view. I know they need to do it for TV reasons but those big breaks tend to take some of the edges off

And they really need to stop having Holly and Breed interview people. The are horrible. And no Holly isn't attractive enough to make up for it.

Wow! Loved every minute of it! I still like to draw my driver but those butter cuts were nice! Tim Burke's winning drive was long and smooooth! (At least as far as long drivers go).
