The Callaway Solfx Transitions series seems like the real deal and are available on Ebay for $40-$60. There does not seem to be any buzz for these - seems like these would be ideal for golf?

I wear them. I prefer non-polarized photochromic lenses for golfing, been wearing that style for a long time, I think the Callaways are some of the best out there. Transitions technology is pretty solid, they're also used by Oakley and Nike.

Tried them out on the course and the technology works. Started out in fog and 50 degrees and finished at very sunny and 75 degrees. The visibility of the ball in the air, greens reading and comfort was excellent. The new technology works a lot better with a hat on and I could see the lens darken and lighten but the view out remained the same.
Best money I have spent in a while.

Bought these about a year and 1/2 ago and in the rx blend(prescription). They are great but hard to adapt to for up close things like looking at a scorecard. I just need the rx for distance so its probably a me thing but I have not used them and reverted back to my reliable prescription glasses from Nike with Transistions lenses. These still let me see things up close(by looking under the glasses) and still have the great vision provided for distance viewing. The Callaway glasses do not let you peak under them to see things up close.
