Mizuno MX-200...very surprised!!!

If you've read some of my previous posts, you'll know I got my CMB's stolen along with my entire bag. Well a fellow WRX'er offered these with Nippon shafts, and I tell you what. I'm actually hitting them better than my CMB's with PXi's. Incredible how good these Mizuno's feel. I'm actually thinking of leaving them in my bag and not getting anything else for a while! I've read of many going from Player's irons to GI's but wow I'm actually shooting a LOT better with these! IF I was to consider changing, do all Mizunos have great feel like these, especially players irons like the MP54's? Now I just have to find a money putter and wedges, and I'll be set!

Mizuno irons are pretty incredible in their feel and acoustics. I have a set of mp57's and a set of mp67's. I love both sets, I typically play the 57's when it's wet(Seattle, so pretty often) and until I got miura tournament blades, I'd always play the 67's on tight and dry courses. I still play them on occasion and never regret it.

I play mx-25's, which are basically the same thing. I was very impressed with how forgiving they are, while at address not looking too big. And of course the great feel on well struck balls. In my mind true GI clubs, not over sized sgi type clubs, but more forgiving then a players cavity.

I love my MX-200s as well! A perfect mix of quality, price, aesthetics, and performance.

Yes the 200's are great model. Great feeling and not huge like some GI irons although they are not small either and have a fair bit of offset. They are one of my favorite GI irons although I found the Diablo Forged even better and they are in a similar category.

I had the mx-200 for about 4 yrs and loved them. when hit flush that soft forged feeling was awesome. until one day at my buddies pro shop I played with the i20's and for my eye I loved the look of these irons. so I hit the i20, mx-200 and g25 and by far loved the i20's and my mx-200 second. I know my mx-200 lofts were about 1 deg weaker so they played shorter then the i20's but shorter about 7-10yds constantly and the forgiveness was pretty equal. side by side the i20 are noticeably smaller. no knock at the mx-200 I loved them but ended up selling them to a buddy of mine and will be fitted in oct for the i20's. but youll love the mx200 they are a good club and pleasing to the eye and cant beat the prices of them now. new I seen them for around 350 400, used 250 and up

Funny this thread popped up, as I put my MX-200's back in the bag yesterday for the time being. I can't say that this is a "switch" from my regular WS Di11's, but rather more my tradition of playing my back-ups once the season starts drawing to a close here in NJ.

The reason I don't play them as my regular set is simply any measure of forgiveness less than the Di11's. That said, the MX-200's were terrific yesterday, like I had been playing them all season. MizunoJunky said it pretty well above, but for the mere mortal who doesn't have the game (or ego) for an iron in the MP series, these are just so darn good.

And thankfully, they made the MX forged irons in LH. I have the MX-200's, had the MX-23's but regrettably got rid of those, and have a mint set of MX-20's that I picked up for $100 when I had the chance. There just aren't a ton of forged GI irons out there, and the Mizuno MX series completely stands the test of time. Loved playing these yesterday, and they do feel and perform outstanding.

This isn't a brag (or an attempt to one) or anything but I'm actually hitting these further than the CMB's, played magnolia yesterday and got an 8 iron to a 169 flag, PW to 150 flag, like I said if I could just get better in putting, (Still looking for a gamer, testing a Nike Method right now) I should be set! Thanks for the responses, actually removed the stickers from them yesterday and plan on putting some yellow paintfill in the Mizuno logo, shall post pictures once I'm all done!

MX 200 are great irons. I wish I hadnt unloaded mine. Looking for a 5i. Left handed.

I have these since they came out in 2009, I think, and they are never leaving my bag. I did try Adams CB 3 (not as soft), JPX 825 pro (not as forgiving),and G25 (too large offset).
I'm now experimenting with the JPX 825 (non pro), for more forgiveness,and although these are bigger in size , (good for forgivrness) have a little less offset compared to the MX-200,so maybe......

Yep, they're that awesome. I can't miss with these, at all. A little bit more accuracy with the driver and putting and I should be set! Going to be working on that next.

I have been looking at doing something along the same lines and picked up a mint set of MX-23s yesterday. I too was thinking about going to the 54s or 64s from my MP32s but will give the 23s a shot when they arrive. Hope I get along with the shafts ok.

I ended up getting a couple MX25 irons (5 and 6). Put my preferred shaft in (KBS) and they are really solid for me. Paired up with MP54 Im loving my iron game again. Playing this Thursday.

200s always were great irons. They offer most of the forged feel that Mizunos are known for but are much more forgiving and easier to hit than an MP iron is.
