Bushnell Rangefinders-which one to buy

Hi everyone,

My pinseeker 1500 was stolen! I am looking at a new Bushnell as I had the pinseeker for years with no problems. Can anyone tell me differences between the V3, Z6 and Pro M 1? Mostly interested in size, convenience. Hard to compare by just looking on their website....

I have the Pro M 1 and love it...however a smaller version such as the V3 might be more appropriate if you want smaller size however the Pro M 1 fits in the pocket on my walking bag with my balls easily and is fast to get yardages for me...IMHO

The Pro M 1 is a great unit when they are working, but a good number of people have had problems with them. Might want to consider that also.

Would consider Leupold as well, but have heard mixed things about being able to get the flag....

I don't have one but am considering the Leupold 3Xi for my next laser. I have narrowed my search down to that or the Bushnell V3. Only thing that might sway me is that many feel Bushnell CS is not so good (but has gotten better recently), where Leupold's has always been excellent. Good luck with your decision!

why 3xi vs 4xi?

Mainly the price. I really never considered the 4Xi into it. I know that with the yellow piece that attaches to it gives you slope readings (at least that is the way I understand it), but without the slope feature, how much different can it be compared to the 3Xi that justifies the extra $100 (approx.)??

I have the v2, it is great. Only issue is battery life. Carry a extra battery with you lol.

Wish I still had mine. It is a good unit. Sold mine to get my i20's. Love my i20's, but miss the V2. Was accurate and reliable.

If size is the issue then I'd really look hard at the Bushnell.......[i]Leupold G3Xi. Sorry, you said Bushnell. [/i]Leupold is small and built pretty rugged.

Was just looking on Ebay and noticed the Leupold PinCaddie.....interesting.....maybe a alternative?? Got to do some research on that one.

Size? Wouldn't the Bushnell Z6 be the one to go for. I didn't (got the V2) because of the higher (I'm more of a gps user) price and having to press the Z6 button VERY hard to use it/get readings. If I do ever find a great deal for the Z6, will most likely pull the trigger for it.

I had the 1500 and switched to the Pro 1M with no problems. If you had the 1500 for a while, getting used to the vertical models might take some getting used to.

The Pro 1M is the best available today, if you ask me, but I still liked the 1500 better.

Love my V3, the jolt when I lock on the pin is really helpful for me because my hand isn't the steadiest.

M1 will be as large as the 1500. I have a 1500 w/ slope and just got a GX4i. The leupold is the smallest size wise. IIRC the Bushnells don't offer a constant scan mode. The GX is much faster picking up a target than the 1500. One thing I will miss is the 7x magnification, 9 volt battery and the large field of view that the 1500 had, but the optics are much clearer on the GX.

Z6. When you get it, press the button a bunch of times to seat the rubber seal...(pull the battery first)... Not hard to press after that.
As for clarity, all of the Bushnells were easier for me to see out of over the Leupold. The V3 was probably a little brighter than the Z6, but the red OLED display is what sold me (as well as the ultra compact size)

I bought the z6 mid summer. I absolutely love it. It will do anything you need it to do and then some. Inside of 125 it gives yardages to the 1/10 of a yard (more than I need). A friend of mine on the golf team has the Pro 1m and I prefer the z6. The Pro 1m ranges farther, but is a pain to carry around. My friend almost never uses it because it is a pain to drag in and out of the bag because of its size. The Tour z6 works for any shot you will have on the course and is small enough to carry around easily. Plus it's so much cheaper! (I got mine on sale for $335). I hope this helps!

Leupold GX-3i is the one to go with because it is small, compact and it fits in your hand nicely. The 3i is built out of a solid aluminum block so it is very durable. Bushnell's Tour Z6 is nice but the materials they use feel cheap. GX-3I > Tour Z6

Really like the leupold. It is small enough to fit the open case in a large drink holder. Very fast but I've yet to hear a beep on a prism flag, it will beep on a shiny metal building. Picks up flags much better than my 1500 ever did.

I purchased the Bushnell V2 about three years ago and its still working fine. I've since got the Neo X watch that I wear for most every round but still keep the V2 in my bag (mostly as a backup). I haven't encountered a condition yet that the pair couldn't give me proper information. I've seen several posts about battery life of the V2. Mine came with a spare battery (the Bushnell Patriot Pack) and I simply rotate batteries several times a year. I still have the original two CR2 units that came in the box. They're lithium cells and supposedly last long. Granted I don't laser every shot per round of golf as I tend to play the same 5 or 6 courses continuously. Usually just the par threes and a couple touchy shots per round (relying more on my watch for the bulk of my shots). I guess if you laser each approach shot battery life would be shorter. Just my experience and 2 cents.

Supposedly bushnell will be releasing a new flagship rangefinder next spring to replace the Pro 1M since there have been so many issues with them. If you can hold off until then that may be your best bet.

I recently purchase a V3 at my local shop. The part that holds the battery got jammed my second time using it, I returned it to the club house and they gave me a brand new one.

Other than that, it works great.
