Quick Price Check-Selling all my clubs going to get new ones in 2014

I made another thread in the equipment section saying that I am going to get a new putter after my graduation this December. I have thought about this a lot, and I am just going to get all new clubs this spring. I will finally have a job that will allow me to buy a set i've always wanted, but i am going to wait til the next clubs come out this spring to go through a fitting and get what works best for my game. I am going to sell my clubs now to raise some extra funds to pay for some of those expenses that go along with graduation (cap and gown, my nursing license test which is expensive, etc)

 

Here is what I am thinking:

 

Driver Ping Rapture v2 10.5 Robmax 7w06

3 wood: V steel 15 Prolite

5 wood: 200 Steel 18 vista pro

Irons: Titleist 695 Cb 3-P s300

Wedges: Vokey Spin milled 52 and 58 s300

Putter: Yes! callie

Bag: Hoofer c-1

 

All in good shape. Thinking of asking $500 for the entire set on craigslist. How does this sound or am i pretty high? I am thinking like D-100, 3w 30, 5w-30, irons 200, wedges 80, putter 40, bag 80 which adds up to $560, but make it a nice deal for an even $500.

I think you're number is fair. It just might be hard to find someone who wants all of those as a set though.

Ping Raptures go for about $50-60 on eBay

I'd say you're over estimating the price of a used C-1 hoofer bag as well.

I'd get rid of them individually - someone coming in to buy them as a whole is unlikely for that price. Just my opinion.

Little to no chance you'd ever get $500 for that set on Craigslist, especially this time of year. You'd be better off selling clubs individually. More realistic prices IMO

3w -$25
5w -$15- probably not even sellable
3-pW- $150
Wedges- why sell unless they're worn? and if worn dont expect more than $20 -$30 apiece depending on condition
Bag- $40 to $50 and will only sell in mint condition.

$400 for the lot probably a decent price then? I am not really wanting to take up all the time involved in selling shipping etc. It is just not worth the headache to me.

I think the number of people wanting an eclectic All-in-One package of used clubs-putter-bag like that for $500, $400 or even $250 is very small. And the number of those who would be shopping in October/November is non-existent. Unless you price the whole package for, say, about the set of irons would sell for and treat the rest as a throw-in you're going to need to split it up.

And for general principles I wouldn't touch Craigslist with somebody else's ten foot pole. Plus it limits your potential buyers to those in your immediate area which right there cuts out 99% of the folks in the world who might be interested.

It's a pain to split it up and sell separately but it's the only way you'll get any significant fraction of what you're looking for out of all that gear. Sorry.

Bingo. I bet you might get $225-$250 tops if you piece it out and sell them individually.

If you do it as a set, you couldn't push the whole bag for $250 - b/c then they'd have to pay shipping.

Even pieced out and sold individually my set could get like $250...not exactly what i was thinking lol. I will probably just hold on to them or donate them this spring if thats all they are worth. Thanks for the input.

If you don't want to take 'all the time' selling / shipping, trade them in for credit on GlobalGolf.com and buy a 'new' set of gently used clubs. Your money will go alot further this way.

I traded in my old Ping i5 irons (4-GW), a G10 driver (stock shaft), an older Odyssey putter and a couple of misc. clubs last spring. I didn't want to try and sell individually and/or wait. In all I got about $200 credit, which I used towards a 'used' (they were mint, still had plastic on them) Taylormade TP CB irons, 4-GW ($450 for the set). I also picked up a Nike VRS driver with upgrade shaft and a gently used putter ($99 and $75 respecitvely). So, for $425 out of pocket, I got a completely new (to me) set.

Yes, I probably could've done better hunting for individual deals and/or selling the irons myself. But, for me, the maybe $75-$100 extra (at most) that I could've gotten on my own would've been eaten up in time and/or shipping costs, anyway. Oh, and shipping, even on the trade-in clubs, was FREE!

400$ is probably a good price for the whole lot, you could probably get more total if you sold all individually
