I couldn't agree more! Each of the players should be given an equal amount to donate to their chosen charity, probably more than they are getting at the moment as the RC is a cash cow!
As you say, it is about the prestige of playing for your team and for the bragging rights. If you don't like the fact their is no money going in your coffers, jog on and play in tin pot open that coincides with it.

You're making the same point I was. We agree. This "initiative" will do nothing to grow the game of golf in the U.S.

And that was the point of my original post.
