Any lower caps use/hit Speedblades?

A bit of background, my handicap fluctuates around 3-4, I swing the driver around 110 and currently playing an old set of r7 tp irons w s300's. Thinking it might be nice to change the irons up finally. I went to a shop yesterday and hit the 2014 pro combos, apex non pro and speedblades. I know they are not all the same class of iron, but I have been thinking of going to GI anyway. Keep in mind this was in Michigan and the heaters on the range weren't doing much. Also I'm not just a TM lover, I made this account a while ago and actually wanted to like the Nike's and Cally's best because I've never had a forged set. It was too cold to really distinguish feel between the sets, but the one set that really stood out in performance was the speedblade.

 

I haven't hit many of the newer irons, and like some posts here I questioned the cranked lofts. I was hitting a 5 iron and I have never seen a ball flight with a 5 iron that was even close to what the speedblade was giving me. High bombs that just seemed to go forever. Much higher than my normal 5i, and pretty accurate as well. This was with the stock speedblade s shaft. Offset was a non issue, wasn't losing the ball left at all really. The shots didn't seem overly spinny either, just a high but still penetrating flight.

 

Any lower caps got these in the bag? Thoughts? I'm leaning towards getting a set, maybe with a different shaft. Are you able to control them and knock the ball down when needed? Thanks.

My thoughts,

I am a 5 and have played your irons and many more just like em including forged the past few years. I was intrigued by the Burner 2.0 irons but not about the strong lofts for sometime and when I asked a friend who plays em who is better then me and younger then me he said the best irons he has ever played.

I would look at him with those and think, why does he have those shovels for years? Well after that answer and messing with the Ping I series I went looking for a set with better shafts then the stock 85 gram steel. Found a set with KBS Tours factory done and since I have played well with KBS I pulled the trigger in April.
Best thing I could have done for my weak iron game. A 5 iron has become a friend. Winning KP's is actually something that does go on (I always entered but thought it was myth since I never won any) and the jacked up lofts never bothered me and only made me feel better.

Now in saying all this, I have messed with the SB with KBS Tour 90's and if you know TM, the R11 irons, the RBZ irons, and now the SB are just modified 2.0 heads to market something new. Sure, you have a slot technology with the SB and a touch thinner top line because of shaving the top line, and you can custom order a set of SB, but what are you gaining over the 2.0's one has to ask?

Do yourself a favor and compare the to of them. Brand new 2.0's can be had for $299 in the HP finish or look for a clean used set.

Hitting knockdown shoots can be done with any iron head if you know what you are doing. Sure, a thin sole will do a better job then a thick soled head, but it can be done.

I like the darker color and thought that the SB's looked good since I am now use to my 2.0's

I am a 4-5 handicap and I just picked up a set of speedblades on eBay cheap (had spelled speedblades wrong in the ad). Going to shaft them up with my ctapers and give them a go. If it makes my game easier than why not? I've played blades and forged irons before. But with 3 kids, work, and no time to practice I just want to make the game easier. So hopefully these work out. I'm excited to try.

I am about to get a set of Speedblades with KBS 90's, I am a 6hdcp. I think they will be a good fit for me.

I have speedblades with s300's and play off 5, they are really easy to hit just wish they had a bit less offset.

I'm in the same boat....was just fitted and the speedblades outperformed all others. Distance is greater, but its the higher trajectory and optimal spin that just work....even on mishits.

I'm a 6-7 handicap but strongly considering going to the speedblades in a heavier shaft than stock.

I hate the baby blue color. Why cant TM make clubs that aren't an eyesore
