  1. It's a little hard to wring anything out of the Maxfli website through the Wayback Machine, in part because Maxfli began using Flash on their website around 2002, which doesn't play well with the Wayback Machine. In 1999, their site mentions the new Revolution irons, but the only clubs listed are the MCT-97 Australian Blades, which were cast 304 stainless. It's also hard to find 26 year old press releases relating to the Revolution irons, especially because the Revolution name has been reused a few times. The closest thing I can find on the Maxfli site relates to the Revolution Midsize. I'll paste an image of that below, but here's the limited text: Maxfli is introducing a new midsize iron that will help good golfers play better. The new Maxfli Revolution MidSize irons feature the same multilayer technology as the Revolution irons, with a soft nickel inner compound for soft feel and a hard chrome outer layer for improved consistency. This combination gives them the consistency of cast clubs, with the soft feel of forged clubs. Three distinct features that make the Revolution Midsize irons unique: 1/4" longer blade length making the club more forgiving of mis-hits near the toe. Progressive offset to promote a higher ball trajectory. Lower center of gravity makes the clubs easier to play.
  2. Both sets of Arias irons have zero offset. There's actually a hint of onset in there. The Sub70 649 Tour MB's have virtually none. If you want to go back 30+ years, there are the Tommy Armour 986 Tours. Might be hard to find a set, though...
  3. If you're referring to the Aussie Blades, no, they're cast nickel. Same process as used on the Revolution black dots, red dots, and A10 Tour Limited irons.
  4. Separate post commenting on a driver shaft experiment... Over the winter, I'd bought a HZRDUS Green Smoke (not RDX) 70 shaft in X, wanted to try it. The EI curve shows its a bit softer in the mid, compared to the HZRDUS Black 75 that I've played, possibly getting stiffer at the tip. Plugged this into my King LTD driver, the OG with the spaceport, cut it to 44", D7, and off we went. Really quite lovely. Felt like a better ball flight than I'd had with the HZRDUS Black, had better accuracy than I'd been seeing. Managed to struggle and still shoot only two strokes off my season best. Its a low bar, but with the struggle I've had this year, any positive is good. Ironic for many in WRX-ville as I'm a sub-100mph player using Xstiff. It works. 😁
  5. This is why I've frequently employed my 300 Mini. I keep going to the well with larger sticks, and it never quite works as I think it should. The main reason I don't just stick with the mini is I have an occasional catestrophic miss such that I feel like a smaller clubhead would just about completely miss the ball. Amusingly, I almost never have those misses with my J's Professional Weapon, which is about 150cc. Go figure.
  6. Been playing my MS11s with Modus 120, it's been going reasonably well. Having hit my TS4 3i with Modus 105, I can feel a difference. The 9g static weight increace is noticeable, and I also notice that kick section in the lower mid. It's giving me a trajectory bump. Some of that could also be the clubheads, I have always hit these higher than my other sticks. Fun extra here, using the MS11s, I finished T3 in a Men's Club event this past weekend, earning another few dollars in chits (proshop credit). Some of that was related to a semi-ridiculous chipping day with the PW, including a hole out. My 986 Tours are fully shafted, gripped, lead taped, and ready to play. I will be taking these out for my next few rounds. Looking forward to playing these again, it's been almost two decades since I sold my set. Yikes. Will also be interested in seeing how these perform in trajectory terms, compared to the Mizunos, or even the TS4 3i.
  7. Wow. Just wow. That's some impressive stuff... Pure Class from Jeeno 👏
  8. Feel your pain, Biggie. 😐 In 2008 or 2009, I could hit my Golden Ram 6 iron to our longest par 3. 7 years ago, i could hit my 3i or 4i to that green. These days I *might* be able to get there with my 2i, but it's more likely I'd need my 1i, if I were carrying it. Father Time is the undisputed and undefeated champion of the world.
