  1. What's for dinner? Once a week we get a delivery of high end meat and seafood from a company out of Atlanta. I have been shooting the breeze with the driver of the truck for a number of years now. Today he brought me a gift. Mr Delivery guy said that a local restaurant gave him a few racks of ribs that were already cooked and just spiced with a dry rub as a gift and he wanted to share one with me. What a nice gesture. I am trying a new BBQ sauce that I brushed on the ribs. The product is made in Los Angeles so it has to be good. 😀
  2. Twenty years ago, a 16 year old Rory shot an UNBELIEVABLE 61 at Royal Portrush.
  3. Just can't wait to watch this guy this do this this weekend at the Open Championship. 😦 Tyrrell says he's going to have a few pints of Guinness tonight.
  4. When I left work this afternoon the players were coming off the course and a storm was about to hit. 5. I was kidding Bob Cat. I didn't give a speech. One of the banquet rooms was set up in that style for a business meeting/lunch.

  8. You're showing your age B. 😀 .....but maybe that shot earned me enough points to jump in the time machine and go back and have a dinner and dancing date that went into the early morning with Agent 99 🙂
  9. @Triple Lindy I wish we had the option to can the afternoon storms and just shift like you are into the only sunny and hot gear instead. Just when I had figured it out. Back on Tuesday the two Bills, Stan, and I teed off at CC of A at 2:10. I started the round out rather sloppy with 3 straight bogeys due to dumb stuff like forgetting the 3/4 part of my gap wedge approach on 1 and ending up on the top collar of a downhill green with two tiers 60 feet from the hole. 3 Putts. On #2 my third shot with a PW on the par 5 found the channel left of the green and from there to the top right pin I couldn't chip it close enough to have an easy putt. A second bogey there. On #3 the downhill Par 3 I hit my 6 iron badly off the toe and it ended up in the front bunker far from the pin. I pretty much suck at long bunker shots. I got it out cleanly but only to the collar in front of me. I left myself with an uphill 30 footer with 5 feet of bend for par. I raced it 3 feet by. I somehow made the second putt (4th shot) for bogey. #4 is the no. 1 cap hole. Great drive and then a 6 iron 1/2 a club uphill from 148 to 10 feet. Missed the birdie putt but the bogey streak was over when my par putt dropped. On 5 I hit a fine drive and then came over the top so bad with my 7 wood approach shot that it went into the middle of the creek that lines the hole on the left. Water ball. Ended up with a double. I was 5 over thru 5. We were playing 2 man teams/combined scores (and my team was 3 down already). I said on #6 tee (shortest Par 3 on the course) to my partner Bill B, " hey man I have to get it going. My tempo is off and my timing ain't that great either but I have hit some quality shots so I think I can right the ship." I shot the yardage and told the group it was 123 yards. 123 is my number with a 9 iron. The pin was back left and it was just 10-12 feet from the little downhill slope that makes up the back left corner of 6 green. "I'm going right for the bank left of the pin Bill and let it trickle on down to the hole. I really like this number." I flushed it and I loved it in the air. It was headed right for the back corner bank. It hit 5 feet beyond pin high, checked, and then rolled to the right down towards the hole. The others in my group paid me compliments on the shot. When we drove up to the green I saw that I came real close to making my fourth Hole In One. I tapped it in for my first birdie of the round. My 9 iron has really been on of late. Give me a 120-125 yard shot and I feel confident I can get it close. #7 is a 475 yard flat Par 5. I hit a solid drive and then a pure 3 wood. For my third shot I hit a SW to 12 feet and made the putt for another biridie and two in a row. +3 after 7 holes. We knew bad weather was moving in from a few directions and the thunder started after we walked off the 7th green. It was time to seek shelter. Not far from where we were on the course is the restrooms and ice water station for the front 9. We headed there. Over the next 10 minutes many more golfers arrived and joined us. The storm hit and it was windy as hell. The rain was sideways. The over one dozen golfers waited the storm out for 50 minutes together at the on course restroom . When we resumed play on 8 another hard rain hit. Our radar screens showed that this weather pattern was most likely to be in the area for an hour or more so our foursome decided to bag it and head to the clubhouse. This was the third round in row for me where there was a storm interruption and it was the first time we called it instead of waiting around some more hoping to resume play. Dang it. The round was over right when I had gotten my swing back. How unfair. lol I'll remember that 9 iron on #6. ⚡ Next Tuesday the same foursome will tee it up again and finish the match. As I write this post my phone has been lighting up with warnings that another thunderstorm is over downtown Asheville.
  10. This is spot on and why I steered clear of making him a Pick this week.
  11. Damn dude you don't play a heck of a lot compared to some of us in this group and yet you go out today and snag a 70 with 3 eagle looks of which one was holed. Nice playing and way to stay mentally tough. Props on the 70 Mr green.
  12. Like clockwork every afternoon a thunderstorm moves in. This has been taking place for weeks here in WNC.
  13. Well I just noticed English is right up there Mr. 1500.

  16. 🤣 I'm here. It's right around the corner and snagging it might just help the Picks of the person that gets it.
