  1. So that invalidates the whole, "He has 1.4 million followers to bring to the PGA" argument because, as most of us know, there's a hell of a lot of overlap that already exists between the two.
  2. As someone that has studied statistics...things are rarely linear.
  3. Sure it's important, to people that want to watch 30 minutes of "golf". That isn't the tournament golf the PGA Tour is selling. Do we really think that the crowd that watches YouTube golf, because that's the limit of their attention span, are going to start watching 4 hours of tournament golf every Saturday and Sunday? YouTube golf is the analogue of going to Top Golf to play a round of golf.
  4. I'd rather root for athletes like this than the guys that are completely consumed by their sport. In the end, professional sports are just a fun distraction and mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's a big part of the reason I could never root for Tiger, Kobe, or MJ; they let their pursuit of an otherwise meaningless activity consume them to the point that they weren't very good humans.
  5. Just go watch your YouTube content creators play mediocre golf and be happy. What's next? Are you going to lobby for Bob Does Sports to get a tour exception provided they can film content? Gen Z can't afford to pay attention. Do you think the Tour's sponsors are clamoring over their viewership?
  6. Who is Grant Horvat and why should I care that he's not playing in a second rate event?
