  1. Glad I asked because I would have tried to fix this incorrectly! I'll get myself straightened out and see how it goes.
  2. I'm glad to hear that there are some good things! Could you say my spine is tilted towards the target? Just trying to make sure I understand what I need to do to correct it.
  3. YouCut_20250725_102336830.mp4 YouCut_20250725_102209873.mp4 All off season I tried to get off my heels at address and also stop whipping the club inside on my takeaway. My swing still feels horrible and I'm not hitting the ball well at all. I just put together that every time I have had a lesson in the past couple of seasons, it's been for my release. Just a couple of weeks ago, I went for a lesson and was told 'I need to relax more' and 'wait longer to release the club'. The lesson before that was 'release the club down the line' and before that it was the swing under the alignment stick. This was from 3 different 'pros' and yes I know, stick with one pro/coach. I had to go to 3 different people because they kept quitting.
  4. I just want to say thanks to everyone who has commented. Now, I don't think it's me losing my love of golf, it's the frustration of actively trying to improve and not really seeing results. I've had several members of this community offer help and I'm always grateful of those that take any amount of time to help a total stranger on the internet.
  5. I was fit for irons about 4 years ago, my swing has changed a lot since then, so it might be time again. I haven't had a driver fitting and it's past time, I tend to buy a head I like then try 3 or 4 shafts in it, absolutely the wrong way to go about it.
  6. I ran across the famous cargo shorts NTC video early on in my 'I'm going to fix this myself' phase. His concepts made sense to me, I bought 3 or 4 of his series. I couldn't turn it into anything, except more searching. He did change my perception of what makes a good golf swing.
  7. That has been the most frustrating part. I keep going to pros and get absolutely nothing out of other than a band aid.
  8. I think a major part of my frustration is that I know it's in there. I'm not talking about breaking par. I just want to feel like I'm competent. I keep seeking out professional help and I get 'just throw the club down the right side of the fairway' or 'just wait to release later'. That doesn't resonate with me. I went for a lesson last Friday and he told me to relax and hold off on my release. So I go out and guess or find a new video on how to actually release the club. I know I haven't been talking specifics, but this is what I have been working with. Maybe I'm just too dumb to figure it out on my own or I'm just not trusting the advice.
  9. I have no idea what happened to the text lol.
  10. I have been playing golf seriously since I was 16 years old, I'm 40 now. When I was in high school I worked at a golf course, I spent all my free time there. I played on my high school team, tournaments outside of school, played a semester in community college. I flirted with par but was usually in the high 70s as far as scoring. Right before I had kids, I was playing the best golf of my life. Then more and more of my time for golf was gone, my golfing partner moved away, I sustained several back injuries, health issues, getting older... Life happened. About 5 or so years ago, I was finally able to have more time to dedicate to golf. I decided to get a lesson and it sent me on a downward spiral. The pro told me I needed to change my entire swing. In part, he was absolutely right. I hadn't been using my lower body correctly along with over swinging and it was causing back pain. I stopped going to that course and the pro because he canceled my tee time and gave me a lecture on using golf now to book tee times. So I went out on my own and now here I am wondering if I should keep going. I have been to several pros locally, got online coaching, training aids, gotten great tips from members here including a long communication back and forth over the winter. I'm just not getting any better. I have no confidence, I have so many things going through my head I focus on one thing and the others are gone. I am missing both ways, I still can't figure out how to get on my lead side, I get 'stuck', I can't find anything that I can use as a consistent swing thought, I try something new on every swing. I'm not trying to get sympathy, but I have no one to reach out to about this. I feel like I have tried so hard, practiced so much, sought out help and I'm more confused than ever. If anyone has any advice, please share it. I can't believe the thought of quitting golf has even crossed my mind. I've poured so much time, energy and money into trying to improve only to fall flat on my face over and over again, I don't know if I can get up anymore.
