That will be an odd area to mix in residential type stuff in that spot when for years it was retail/mall/movie theatre. There used to be a golf store across Gallatin Pike just off Myatt Dr. It is an urgent care now.

What are they putting in where Rivergate Mall was?

LIV Tour Discussion Thread (*** NO POLITICS ***)

Data gets more accurate/representative with more points. If you use the OWGR ranking method with just majors you would look at it currently and see JJ Spaun pretty daggone high on the list. God bless JJ Spaun, but I believe if that list existed as you want to see it, it would have him much higher ranked by virtue of his US Open win than what is likely true. Same for Robert Macintyre. He put up a 2 and a T7 in the last two majors. In those two most recent ones he has a better record than Rory. -
I know you said you have looked at Mexico, what did you find out in the Cabo San Lucas area? Too expensive or resort courses?

Thread title says, "boring to watch." Vanilla ice cream melting is super fitting.

While you are in need of sheriffing, I have some bad news for you. You are gonna have to read 699 pages at least since I just summarized the part about five posts before his post that Tom wasn't connecting the dots on. -

Right, now, but not at the outset. -
Puerto Rico? Or Bermuda maybe.

Maybe that goes away when the contracts go away? Of course they have to generate a method to promote players and from where. -

Full agreement with that as well. There are some things they should acquiesce to, others central to their league I can understand not wanting to change. Still other aspects I think there are work-arounds for on the OWGR side of things. Even a few head scratchers. When you read through the OWGR guidelines, you can tell they were written in that way because that was how tournament golf existed. There was nothing different, no different formats, to even need to consider. -

Thanks Tom for adding meaningful commentary to the discussion. If you had been reading along we were comparing LIV golfers' performances in the majors to non-LIV golfers. While the accuracy of Data Golf has been called into question, it is one of the few metrics that includes all leagues/tours. And, because you seem rather unobservant, I'll point out that LIV golfers have been competing in the majors. So, like it or not, you sort of have to care, even just a little, when they are in contention. There is an LPGA sub-forum better suited to your tastes. -

I said that and this a long time ago, those that had seats on the OWGR board were also those that had an interest in keeping LIV out. Hence, why it has been so hard to get anything slightly different through. ^That is not to say I also do not find there to be legitimate reasons not to allow LIV OWGR points. -

Cam Smith was a great putter. If you follow the Strokes Gained stuff much at all you find that winners often ride a hot streak with the putter. I haven't looked deeply into how he is playing now but it would not surprise me if Smith is going through a similar deal as Jordan Spieth. Putter just not as good and therefore not winning. -

I didn't watch it. It was like an hour and ten minutes long. I am no stranger to shirking work to peruse the innerwebs but even I have my limits. -
You cannot believe that a person doesn't find methodical golf entertaining in comparison to some other ways that the game is played? If you were to rate purely entertainment value of Scottie, Phil and Seve's games, you couldn't believe where someone may draw distinctions among them?

Question about media rights. And what spurred this was I was perusing youtubes and saw a PM video on chipping "brought to you by PM and The HyFlyers" and a The Golfer's Journal video from Brad Faxon. I did not know that Brad Faxon was not an active member of the Champions Tour. The question, would both of these videos been not allowed by the PGA Tour before or if not, not allowed, the revenue (if it exists) from these videos or rights, would have been owned by the PGAT and that was the major gripe that PM had about "media rights?" And then that question leads to another, how is that different or how was it handled back when Golf Digest had "player editors" or whatever they were called where players provided articles or snippets on instruction? -
I got a reminder this past weekend about how Golf is great. It is easy to get caught up in your own game. Or be overly concerned with the latest clubs or tweaking lofts, lies, etc. You may even find yourself belt notching top 100 lists of the great courses. But, in my opinion, golf is even more than that. It is a community of folks brought together by all of those aspects of The Game. Case in point, what I sort of got to witness over the weekend. Two of my three kids swam for our club's swim team this season. The "conference meet" was held Saturday and Sunday at another club a few counties over. As we were loading up the truck Saturday evening I noticed two of the golf shop guys taking down all manner of contraptions from off of their putting green. Pool noodles, string, traffic cones, dinosaur toys, ramps, kiddie slides, you name it, it was out there on their putting green. I suspected it was maybe a First Tee or youth association type event. The guy I am assuming was the pro or assistant told me it was a guy who was having his 85th birthday and he wanted to play putt-putt. I turned just in time to see one of those short church bus type things pulling out of the parking lot with, I am going to assume several folks from the assisted living facility where the guy was living. Aside from the heat I could think of no better way to celebrate a birthday like that than with others on the course, albeit in a different way than most of us would probably be thinking now at our current ages. Anyway kudos to that gentleman on his birthday, his birthday wish and the staff at the club that clearly went out of their way to make it come true for him.

What I have seen, keeping in my mind I am not a super, not in the business and only had one GC Mngt class in college, is that you have to break that up and sand it or get down to greens mix to get the turf to spread into those bare areas. But you likely are not getting aggressive growth this time of year. We have one green they redid the bunkers, drainage and expanded the collars on. Work was completed last fall but they still had to come back in 3-4 months ago and put some plugs in the periphery of the work areas where the bent, green turf was compromised. It doesn't look great still. It just has not "knit" in just yet. They reclaimed some green area though and can really tuck some pins when desired.

Head to the youtubes and check out the Cajun Thundercats, the Tunda Minous. Epic adventures of rescuing and protecting Pawpaws Magnalite pot.

Boycotting this thread until notables are listed. My life lacks direction as is. I can't stand to flounder about any longer.

Always best to stay away from Louisville. I avoid anything north and east of Elizabethtown as a rule.

That low cut Talor Gooch hit on 18 was a great golf shot. Looked like a hybrid or 5 wood or something. Anyway, it struck me as the perfect shot to fit the fairway and keep it low in the wind. Didn't take on more risk than he had to given where he stood. -
Need them an honor jar or something. In other news, if you follow the nashville golf group on the facebooks, the current condition of Twelve Stones doesn't sound great. Not good for that new ownership group as they seemed to have had stuff turned around and headed into a positive direction for that course. Tees on certain holes have always been a problem due to tree encroachment but the current gripe seems to be the greens. Odd since I thought they converted to bermuda.
