Just a heads up if you play in higher level competitions. I am quite certain you cannot leave those empty and be complying. May or may not matter to you but wanted to let you know.
  2. Haven’t heard anything concrete but putting a couple comments together I am led to believe there will be an iron introduced that would fit somewhere between the Dynapwr Forged and the CB. Won’t be until next spring for the release.
  3. Ok ok ok we agree with you. Stop hitting “submit reply” already🤣
  4. So the 5-10 yards lost means they stood still? The average gain you mentioned is 5 mph which would equate to about 12.5 yards gained….and I believe that carry gain. So maybe average gain for your clients is 15 yards or so. Depending on your “rec” golfers ability I would guess the average guy that mostly misses the middle of the face will lose very little(which is likely why the USGA made the claim we wouldn’t notice a loss). The better players that do hit is solidly will lose the most I would think.
  5. That wouldn’t do a thing to improve their chances of rankings if they don’t change how players are allowed to play LIV. If they don’t have any churn so it is just a closed shop they will not get points.
  6. If you would have said that the first time I’d agree. Hatton has been playing great in the majors and Rahm has been good. Sergio we don’t need…don’t miss…just needs to go away.
  7. You didn’t read the post you replied to very well it seems. I suggest you read it again Do you really think being a member means you’re “able to go out and play any given time” or even as a member do you need to abide by what is on the club’s tee sheet? Would you be this upset if foursomes of members were in the way and think you deserve to be able to go out when you want? Doubtful. So you are a member at a club that has these leagues…or charity events…that bring in extra income and you ARE NOT allowed to play then. If they didn’t have hose events your dues would likely be much higher or the course be forced to close.
  8. So fields are thin because someone dominates? Yeah, this was a thin leaderboard Place Player Score To par Money ($) 1 Tiger Woods 65-69-71-67=272 −12 800,000 T2 Miguel Ángel Jiménez 66-74-76-71=287 +3 391,150 Ernie Els 74-73-68-72=287 4 John Huston 67-75-76-70=288 +4 212,779 T5 Lee Westwood 71-71-76-71=289 +5 162,526 Pádraig Harrington 73-71-72-73=289 7 Nick Faldo 69-74-76-71=290 +6 137,203 T8 Vijay Singh 70-73-80-68=291 +7 112,766 Stewart Cink 77-72-72-70=291 David Duval 75-71-74-71=291 Loren Roberts 68-78-73-72=291 Look at the winners of majors for the last 15 years…or further. Not two years. Yes, the cream often rises to the top but you’ll see many players win and be in contention from further back in the rankings. As for taking a further deep dive into this. Are you a betting man? Do you use this methodology to bet on these events? It must be easy to come out waaaay ahead if the same two guys are the only ones winning?
  9. Most of us when we discuss depth on tour goes back much further than y2k. IMO, for instance, depth on tour is personified by Hogan, Nelson and Snead winning a ton in the post war years. You’re a bit to narrow with those stats as they overlap immensely. For instance 2020 to today is only a bit over five seasons. Seems natural there would not be many over ten wins in that period as that’s just about two wins per year. If a player started in 2000 the odds are good they are still active and that gives them over 25 seasons to win ten times.
  10. You’ve got a Rattler. This is my MA55 maybe you can compare that way.
  11. No….for the life of me I can’t do the math in my head. Even if you were on the low end with a 8.0 index of the range you stated you’re saying you went from 8.0 to 2.6 overnight? 2 stroke exceptional score adjustment plus that score which was substantially better than the score it knocked out I can see you going from 8.0 to 4.5 or so but how did index drop 5.4 in one score?
  12. But it seems @Birdman62 disagrees. Somehow he seems to be confusing top 3’s and top 10’s with the depth and his “peak performers” idea. Seems to me with the increased depth on tour that most of us see that it actually would be increasingly difficult to do things he takes for granted. One thing would be winning often like Scheffler is doing and the other thing- where he seems to denigrate the young players today- is getting high finishes particularly in majors at a young age. As Rory ages out of his peak years, it will be up to Bryson and X to keep Scottie in check, but beyond them his level of competition looks to be VERY thin, unless and until someone younger than him can reach a peak which can challenge him consistently. Seems odd to me you can simultaneously acknowledge increased depth but also claim the competition is very thin.
  13. What flex are you seeking?
  14. Ahhh, it’s a bunch of bunk.🙄 Unfortunately we will continue to get articles like these thrown at us. paste not working….guessing it’s because it’s from some other site(mgs) from a club pro saying all we got to do is save the bird with our grip.🤦🏼
  15. But he’d be overrated based on that one finish. Which is exactly my point. As a matter of fact he’d be rated better than a guy that has 2 wins per year in events that don’t seem to matter to you. IMO….apparently not in yours….golf is different than other sports. The regular season is not a preamble to a World Series…or Super Bowl. Every event matters, not equally as the majors are elevated in prestige but they are not the be all end all. To me it’s absolutely absurd to think a Ray Floyd had a better career than Billy Casper when he won 22 times vs 51 times by Casper just because he had 4 majors and Casper 3.
  16. So Cam Smith is still a top 10 player because he had a 4th in the 2023 US Open? Or maybe Detry would be because he had a t4 at the 2024 PGA? And talk about a closed shop! If they only ranking was for your 5 events the guys that play in them would be the same field for the next 40 years. No one else would ever have a way to get into the events.
  17. Agreed…any ranking that currently has Rahm at #3 is very suspect. You can’t just compare course to course and claim they can rank LIV. Definitely do not have as difficult tourney course setups as PGA Tour. Which might go a long way to explaining why most have struggled in majors. Well…that and apathy.
  18. 💯 Tiger seemingly hit shots that no one else could hit…..but then many of those shots generally were the shot after he hit it into trouble in the first place. Scottie hits those same recovery shots on occasion but much more rarely than did Tiger as he doesn’t put himself into those situations very often. I am entertained by great performances not the theatrics.
  19. I’m not that deep.🤔 I was just referring to his approach to the game we love and hate and still spend so much time here posting about it. As much as it would be nice to win-as much as possible be it club level or well beyond to pro level- I find his attitude refreshing and freeing. For those in the media and that posted here against what he said in that interview how many feel the way about their job the way they seem to expect Scheffler to feel about his? No profession is the be all end all of your life but that does not preclude a person from doing it to the best of their ability.
  20. Seve and Lee may be tops in inspirational but I’ll take Scottie as most aspirational for having the game that is the most complete I’ve seen….maybe ever.
  21. That is the only sense you could say that…barely. I’ll take the guy with 46 top 10’s in the last 58 events(3 seasons)over the guy with 29 of 58. And Scottie has won way more with more majors to boot.
  22. The Masters field is more like the second round of the playoffs. Top 50 plus the ex champions -many of which are LIV guys to make you happy. As of right now it it’s Scheffler by a mile for POY and it’s somewhat ridiculous to even consider it a “race”. Ryder Cup means nothing to the POY vote. In what world are the Players and Memorial equivalent? Players is a much bigger deal…have you ever heard of anyone wanting to call Memorial a fifth major? But I do agree Scottie has it locked up. But we seem to need these discussions as you may recall there were some thinking Schauffele should be considered last year because he won two events…both majors…and some seemed to think that as better than 9 wins with one major.🤯
  23. Exactly! Next some will be pining for the Euro killer that used to known as AK with the flashy belt buckles.😲
  24. That’s what I thought. @iacas reply threw me off a bit as the post I replied to from him had me thinking he meant relief would be granted. Which is why I mentioned other obstructions that wouldn’t be given relief from if OOB.
