  1. This is my entry into a JV knock-off of the infamous Getitdaily's Bunk Series. I would put a request in to have him proclaim to the greater WRX community that GRF Measurements are BUNK.....but I'm sure he wouldn't do it because he's a foot pressure freak, so.. Just move your body correctly and the GRF's will take care of themselves. (maybe once you can pretty much tear the cover off the ball, you can turn the plates on and fine tune a little if it makes you feel better.) Tell me I'm wrong!

Yes Checkpoints: Hips more open with out dragging shoulders open Left arm more out from body, but still relatively vertical Clubhead more behind hands Right wrist more bent back Right heel starting to come up because hip/shoulder differential Right elbow more bent and sitting in at right hip--not in front, not behind Left wrist flat Figuring out why those things are different is your road to ballstriking stardom.

  6. Basically, you have one chance in your golfing life to learn the kinematic chain. Would you like to see Virtuoso’s Skill Acquisition Graph?
  7. Yeah, that’s understandable. Try yo start slow and small, and then increase speed as you increase technical competence, etc. The problem: Every kid that learned to ultimately break 80, and some of them 70, learned to move big and fast first, and then constrained the swing later. Most adults that started golf, learned to make small, slow swings first and then tried to make them faster and bigger later. Most of them never learned to break 90. Bogey golfers for life. There is a technical explanation for this.
  8. @cbrown1170 If I said you should spend most of your practice time trying to swing about as big and hard as you can, would that sound wrong to you?
  9. The DTL is not that much longer than the face on. If you move your right butt cheek toward your left heel as you lock your leg out, your arm swing will stay shallow in front of your chest and stop quickly.
  10. @cbrown1170 Whether your coach has chosen the right priorities in the mechanics to work on and whether you might have better ideas of what those priorities should be is immaterial at this point. You have both decided to take a few high tech measurement devices and do a deep dive into the minutia of biomechanics. At the end of it, you will have a lot of technical insights about the golf swing, but still not actually be able to hit a ball with grace, power and precision. So, instead, it should go like this: You look at the swing as two basic components: Your arm swing, and your body pivot. You gain an understanding of how they generally blend together so that they are synchronized in a way that the body can move and turn toward the target as the arms swing the club toward the ground. You practice rehearsals at an imaginary ball 2 feet off the ground with a big full move, at high speed, while trying to keep from falling over. This is your introduction to GRF's and general sequencing. You start to pay closer attention to wrist alignments and hinging so that you can transfer energy and speed out to the club head (you learn to crack the whip). You try to take this raw assembly and make the bottom of the club scrape the mat in the general location that the ball will be. You keep practicing at full speed until you are more precise in where you land the low point of the clubhead radius on the mat. You introduce a ball. You scrape the mat under the ball at full speed.....you are now golfing. You are now getting the ball airborne and you start to learn how to time the closing of the clubface to start to control direction. Then you turn the machines back on.

  12. Hi @bt1717, Let's explore something. P6 (shaft last parallel before impact) is the gateway to tour level ballstriking. I'm going to show an image of you at P6, and then a bunch of tour players at P6. Tell if you see any differences:
  13. Ohh, cool, a right eye dominant guy. The reason you can't clear your hips more is because of your right leg/right hip movement from P2 to P4.

  15. Yes, generally if they are playing a cut. On the Henrik vid, the passive face rotation is exaggerated because his iron is slapping pretty steep into the ground, which slows down face closure rate post divot. If you watch him hit a wood cleanly off a tee, you will see more clubface roll over. On the right eye draw pattern, you will see a lot more face roll over, eg, Justin Leonard.
  16. I think he means his upper back is hunched over. But its actually not a problem. But Jaffa likes to look for hidden golden nuggets.
