  1. I guess before this thread goes further, I should explain why I’m recommending those types of mechanics for right eye right hand. Firstly, those bullet points are things that I think these golfers should try. Most of them don’t do any of those things. I have no data, these are my opinions. My opinions are based on this: if a right eye golfer feels less comfortable turning their head to the right on the backswing, and more comfortable turning their head to the left on the downswing, they are thus more likely to have a less active pivot turning back, and a more active pivot turning through. This is because head position and rotation can put a limit on range of motion of the pivot, for obvious reasons. Having come to that conclusion means you should arrange the other parts of the swing to match that pivot type. These extra parts have nothing to do with eye dominance, ie, a strong grip and low amounts of forearm rotation tend to match an active pivot coming through the ball. That would be true if you were blindfolded. Furthermore, I don’t care about alignments. Pretty much everyone struggles with all types of alignment errors regardless of eye dominance. The only thing you tend to see is that as skill gets better, the static alignments tend to net out to good ball flight because good players have intuitively put all the pieces together better than the high hdcp people.
  2. It would be cool to do a poll to see how many each we have floating around here. A lot of people don’t even know what they are.
  3. Unfortunately, because you never let go of the club, momentum is never left alone.
  4. Hogan just before total throwout of the wrist alignments. No conspiracy necessary here. It is abundantly clear he is supinating like a banshee.
  5. Yeah, next on the agenda for a groveler video is the topic feeling the foot pressures through movement of the hand path. It reverse engineers the management of how soon you pressure left vs igniting the arm swing down plane……but the link up starts at p1.5.
  6. Bonus material: An unintended but fantastic consequence of locking the arm swing into the pivot is that it allows the brain to link the management of forces and torques acting through the hands to the GRFs acting through the feet. That would be my contribution to a Hogan conspiracy theory.
  7. Yeah, there was a consensus among the golf instruction elite starting about 20 years ago that hogan had some sort of passive pivot driven release with a low closure rate of the club face. Um, no. He did however have a well documented belief in keeping the upper arms “connected” to the torso. So, essentially he unwound the wrist alignments as hard and fast as he could while trying to keep his upper arms from flying off his torso. Because he “locked” his arm swing into his pivot, while simultaneously throwing the wrists, it becomes a very active pivot to the finish, with the arms not riding up the torso until very late, which gave him that unique “arms flung to the sky” between P9 and P10. Ok, you triggered my Hogan fetish, but to summarize, yes he had very active twisting of the left arm through impact….but it is masked over by the super active pivot….so the supination doesn’t stand out like it would in other patterns. The obvious secret that he also is on the record about, is that he merely makes sure the club face is in a more open position from the funnel to the gateway, so he can supinate as hard as he wants and still have the face open at impact.
  8. I would say, don't listen to anyone here and go see if it works 2 days in a row. (but do listen to what i just said) And also, this is important: anyone that told you to point your lead elbow at the target at impact should be sent to an insane asylum.
  9. Gotcha, now i have better understanding of the impact numbers. That would change my diagnosis and a little bit. Are you wanting to play a draw as your stock shot and lower ball flight generally?
  10. Hmmm, ok. Here are some assumptions, tell me which ones are right or wrong: Scoopy, shallow divot Lack of compression Ball launches pretty high, and starts right When things are going well, it is a high slight draw When things are bad, can be a high bloopy block, or can turn into hook, especially with driver A low penetrating punch pull cut would be very difficult to hit Face on view will probably show a strong lateral shift with the pelvis. A clunky toe hit is common, and toe hits with driver turn into hooks quickly.
  11. What did your past coaches say was the cause of your EE?
  12. No, because both camps were trying to recruit the new kids (rear post but early shifters), and the fall out from that was irreconcilable.
  13. Wrist Set Tribes are Bunk. One day all the One Piecers and Quick Hingers will live together in harmony.
  14. Amen brother, if someone tells you to do something with your golf swing there is about a 78-83% chance they are wrong.
  15. Honestly, I think the fact that they try to define the narrow and correct way to operate your wrist alignments......and then have the gall to recommend a device that can give you real time feedback on those alignments is OUTRAGEOUS!
  16. I had really started to come to terms with all the normal struggle sessions on this forum where people wallow in the cold harsh reality of getting better at this game. At least I could be of some help by bouncing around to different threads to give people their last rites…..but now this has showed up and started to create a spark of entirely too much false hope. I’m feeling very uncomfortable now and I must leave.
  17. That’s called The Elite Two Cheek position. (btw, on your swing you don’t have to get that open)
  18. Ok, because I didn't see the bunk parts. I think maybe they had an affiliate link...which of course means huge conspiracy.
  19. Fair enough. I have to admit, my advice was based on making the assumption that you find a guy that knows what he's doing...which is no guarantee. If you can self serve with the right info, carry on.......but just be advised that if I could wave a magic wand and put you into the correct shoulder alignment for impact, you might not believe me. It would feel obscenely different, so be prepared for that.
  20. Ludvig stands really close to the ball. Not sure he's your best model. I agree with what a lot of the other guys said, but if you really want to fix this, you need to go to a good instructor and say: "I've seen on video that as I come into impact, my hips are getting open but my shoulders are staying MASSIVELY closed, causing me to hit neck hooks." Likely his fixes will include some of the stuff already mentioned but the real key is for him to give you the kinesthetic feel of what its going to be like to get your hips and shoulders synchronized, ie, your shoulders more advanced and open and stacked on top of your pelvis coming into impact. The thing the other guys mentioned about the hips not turning on the backswing is the origin story and partly why the hips have such a huge head start coming back down. ...but you really need some hands-on surgery from someone that knows what they are doing. The right synchronization and is going to feel unbelievably different.
  21. Sure Right eye dominant people set up with a certain neck alignment to keep their right eye on the ball. In order to move the body in a way that accommodates that they should: Have a stronger grip Take it back more inside and handle moves more out in transition Shaft tends to shallow more in tranny as handle moves out Have the face angle more closed Not turn the hips back quite as much Less pelvis lateral shift coming down and sternum stays on top of pelvis more (less torso tilt away from target) Have a flatter swing plane Have a much more active torso rotation through the ball More forward handle lean More straight to slight fade Lower traj Less forearm rotation through impact Head swivels targetward earlier in downswing More Cowx Type B release (left wrist moving into flexion to square face) So, the OP is doing none of that......but his head position and behavior is telling me he might be right eye. If true, the golf swing is always going to feel like an awkward tug-of-war between his brain and his body.
  22. A ha...lets try it this way. From the background in the video, it looks like you are in SoCal. Break Looking at your swing, it appears that you may be right eye dominant. If so, its a bad idea to be right eye dominant and move the body parts under your neck as if you're left eye dominant....which you appear to be doing.
